Short Film Weekend: Wirecutters

This weekend I present to you Wirecutters, a really interesting little animated short film about two futuristic robots designed to collect minerals on what appears to be a deserted planet. Will they overcome their instinct to compete, or will they work together for the greater good?…

What’s up with all these animated short films having such dark endings? I mean seriously, this starts out as Wall-E and ends up as some weird robot horror movie.

What I really like about this film is the animation and the construction of the early relationship between the two robots; using their unique strengths to work together by identifying and extracting the minerals, respectively.
