Oscars Predictions 2018: Best Supporting Actor
Here’s to the gentlemen who left a mark on their films in a supporting role thanks to their superior acting method. Our panel selects who we think was the best of the best this past year and who we think will win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Nominees:
Caryn
Sam Rockwell – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Sam Rockwell has been such an underrated actor for the longest time, I’m so glad that he finally got a role that got him noticed by the Academy, because I do believe his other roles were excellent just under-appreciated. I can’t wait to see him walk away with the statuette.
Darren
Sam Rockwell – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Well he has won everything else, why stop now.
Dean
Sam Rockwell – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
I’ve been saying this for years, but I’ll say it again. Sam Rockwell is one of – if not THE most underrated actor working in Hollywood. If you’ve seen Moon you’ll know exactly how good he is. Finally this seems to be the year he’s getting his rewards. As a hot head police officer with a point to prove, I was cheering for him every step of the way. I think he’s got this in the bag.
Garth
Sam Rockwell – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
I must say, Sam’s performance is of the top shelf. Playing characters filled with so much hate but ultimately redeems himself is his forte. See 7 psychopaths for reference.
Jeslyn
Sam Rockwell – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
I loved this movie, and Sam Rockwell throwing someone out of a window was the best thing I’ve seen so far this year. Also, scratching someone specifically for the purpose of DNA was an educational experience. Great performance.
Mat
Richard Jenkins – The Shape of Water
He delivered a heartfelt performance in The Shape of Water and I believe he deserves this win.
PJ
Woody Harrelson – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
This was a toss up between him, Sam Rockwell and Richard Jenkins but I’m gonna put the money that I don’t have on Woody.
Ramz
Woody Harrelson – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
I’m a HUGE Woody Harrelson and even I didn’t expect a performance like this from him.
Shad
Christopher Plummer – All The Money In The World
Christopher Plummer came in at the last moment to replace Spacey and pulled off an amazing performance? Sounds like a winner to me.
Stephen
Sam Rockwell – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Sam Rockwell does an absolutely ridiculously amazing job in Three Billboards. I’d be pretty surprised if he doesn’t take the win here, and looking at the rest of the nominees I just don’t feel like anyone stands out as much as him in this category.
Tash
Sam Rockwell – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
I watched and I loved. Every actor in this film gives a bloody powerful performance but my money’s on Rockwell. Doesn’t hurt that I have a soft spot for him because he is one smooth dancer!
Tendai
Sam Rockwell – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
I struggle to take Rockwell seriously because hey, he’s a funny guy. But when a funny guy transforms himself and delivers a performance like that, I think he is even surprised how great he performed. Give this man the Oscar. He has taken himself to the highest level in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,
Vernon
Sam Rockwell – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
I never hated a character as much as i did him in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. I also never loved a character as much as i did him in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Sign of brilliant acting.
