This Video Shows The Story of Jon Snow AKA Aegon Targaryen

Look, season 7 of Game of Thrones is over, and if the rumours are to be believed, we won’t be getting a new season until 2019! That really, really sucks. So what can you do between now and then? Well if you haven’t the books are a good place to start.

There are a bunch of History and Lore short animated videos from the Game of Thrones Blu-rays of the past that you can purchase (or find on YouTube). HBO have also just announced a new animated series that will focus on the conquest of Westeros by Aegon the Conqueror.

But YouTube is also filled with Game of Thrones reviews, recaps, discussions, breakdowns, and more of all, video essays that explore characters on Game of Thrones. This one explores the story of Jon Snow, from season 1 all the way up to season 7 when we discover the truth of his identity: That he is in actual fact a Targaryen.

From Jon Snow (Bastard) to Aegon Targaryen (King)

Look, I have to admit that I have my qualms with the way Jon Snow (I mean Aegon Targaryen) has on some crazy plot armour since he came back from the dead, but big ups to this YouTuber who cut this video from existing Game of Thrones footage, and pieces together a story that the casual fan may not have noticed being layered into the series bit by it since season one. Yes, that far back!

More advanced watchers / geeks of the books and show have been trawling the internet for years, speculating and deliberating on the true identity of Jon Snow’s parents. The crazy thing is that this has not even been revealed in the books as of the writing of this post, meaning that this is brand new information to book readers as well, from a story over two decades old. Now how crazy is that?
