Doctor Strange Teaser Trailer

Over the past couple of months we’ve seen numerous images of Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor surface on the web for Marvel’s upcoming film, Doctor Strange. Now we finally have the first trailer…

It’s true that Doctor Strange is probably one of the lesser known characters in the Marvel Universe, however he is a very interesting character. Joining Cumberbatch in the main cast is Ejiofor who will be playing the villain, Baron Mordo, and Tilda Swinton, who plays The Ancient One, another role she’s applied her gender-bending brilliance to, as this character is male in the comics.

The visuals look stunning, and appear Inception-esque, while the teaser itself does a good job of revealing Strange’s past, as well as the tragedy he experiences. I’m really looking forward to a good origin story, as I feel that we’re so far into the comic book movie cycle that everything feels like a sequel.

Speaking of which, it’s been said that the main villain for Doctor Strange, will be appearing as quite a hefty villain in Captain America: Civil War (which premiere’s today). This makes sense as Strange plays a role in the Civil War comics.  The character, Baron Zemo is played by Daniel Brühl; but whether or not we’ll see an appearance of Doctor Strange himself in the film is another question altogether. We’ll just have to wait and see.
