Triple 9 Red Band Trailer is Ultraviolent

This film has been flying under the radar for a while, despite having a pretty awesome cast. It features Norman Reedus, Aaron Paul, Woody Harrelson,  Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Winslet, Anthony Mackie, Gal Gadot and more. Yes, that is one crazy cast. So check out the trailer (which is super violent and may not be appropriate for sensitive viewers).

So maybe all those bodyless heads in the trailer are the reason we haven’t heard so much about the film yet; it’s not the kind of thing that gets a prime time marketing campaign.

The film is based on a Black List script by Matt Cook and the official synopsis reads as follows:

“In ‘Triple 9’, a crew of dirty cops is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist and the only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for ‘officer down.’ Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the entire attack, triggering a breakneck action-packed finale tangled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.”
