Oscars Predictions 2018: Best Animated Feature

A lot of great animated films were nominated this year and we predict the winner of the Academy Award for Best animated feature.

Nominees:

Caryn

Coco

It has to be Coco, a movie that transported me to a different country, educated me about a culture and still made me weep uncontrollably. A beautiful, beautiful film that deserves any and all accolades that it achieves.

Darren

Coco

Rabbit and the hare…..no real other contenders.

Dean

Coco

Coco is a magical experience. The way it depicts Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) as such an important part of Mexican culture is truly special. But at it’s heart it’s a story of love and loss and family and music. A wonderful moving film that is head and shoulders above the rest of the other contenders.

Garth

Coco

Come on this is too easy, this movie won awards before it was even released and its Pixar. Pixar can do no wrong. It’s like the Dwayne ‘the rock’ Johnson of Animation. It would be an upset if it doesn’t win.

Jeslyn

Coco

Coco is such a sweet movie about family. The songs are lovely, the story is good and the thought that Trump would lose his shit if he knew Disney is encouraging children to learn about Mexican culture makes me happy.

Mat

The Boss Baby

Because Alec Baldwin. Enough said.

PJ

Ferdinand

Out of all these films I only saw the trailer for Ferdinand. To me, Ferdinand looks befuxk.

Ramz

Coco

I feel like Pixar is taking this one even though they don’t deserve it. Their worst film yet.

Shad

Coco

Wow. This one took me by surprise and even had me a little choked up. Coco has already won…in my heart…

Stephen

Coco

Hands down, Coco is going to win this one. No other film in this category can compete with the beautiful visuals from the Land of the Dead as well as all of the feels from ‘Remember Me’ and the entire story and how it’s told.

Tash

Loving Vincent

Purely based on the tingling of my chest-hairs.

Tendai

Coco

Coco. I feel like this is a slam dunk for the movie. The movie catered to all ages of the audience and elements of the movie were educational on the history and culture of the lead character. A low-key tear jerker, Coco is the leading candidate for the Oscar.

Vernon

Coco

I would really have loved to see Ferdinand before making this selection because the trailer was very charming. But I’m going with Coco: it’s a superior animated film with a very unique storyline.
