Kong: Skull Island Trailer
Sometime last year a movie came out (I can’t even remember what it was) and everyone fell off the Kong: Skull Island train. If you remember, please tell me. I digress. Since then, with its amazing cast ready to rock, the first trailer for Kong: Skull Island dropped at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) this past weekend. Check it out below:
Watching this trailer, I feel like this should have been called Apocalypse Kong, because the visual homage to Apocalypse Now is really strong with this one. The tint is very stylized, a lot like Godzilla, for which this is a companion piece. A Godzilla vs. King Kong movie has been slated for 2020 already, which will see these titans go head to head. That’s going to be glorious.
Based on the visual effects of Godzilla, I’m going to say that we’re in safe hands in that regard. The cast is impeccable, so it’s really going to be down to the story in this one. Hopefully they nail it, and we’re in for a real treat. We’ll just have to wait and see.
