Brand New Warcraft Movie Trailer

Here’s the thing: I was super excited for this movie. The idea of a Warcraft movie is just amazing, isn’t it? Now we have a second trailer, and I have some concerns. But first, check it out below…

Okay, so the biggest concern for these guys is the latest Disney CGI fest, The Jungle Book. Why? Well because it is a CGI masterpiece! The way they managed to merge rendered graphics with motion capture is astounding. I had my doubts with early trailers, but when I saw the film in glorious 3D, I was blown away.

Looking at the Warcraft trailer (in 1080p) I’m not really concerned about the detail of the environments created, but more about the weight of CGI elements in those environments, and how well the real merges with the computer-generated stuff. A film like The Jungle Book had one live actor (not counting a few extras with no lines who don’t really interact with the CGI beasts), meaning that the interaction was more manageable; more directable (yeah, that’s not a word).

I guess we’ll have to just wait and see. I don’t usually expect films adapted from games to have amazing story lines, but the amount of lore at the disposal of these filmmakers if ridiculous, so they better give us something good!
