Manchester by the Sea Spoiler-free Review
I heard a lot of hype about this movie, including some heart-wrenching moments, and some great performances. So obviously I had to check it out.
Manchester by the Sea is likely to make you feel all of the feels at once. There’s some heavy scenes in this film, but overall I found it to be a slow burn; after all we’re just spending some time with a group of people who are going through some hectic things in their lives; dealing with loss and trying to just keep on keeping on.
More than this, I cannot give the film, and I’m not 100% sure where all the hype is coming from. Casey Affleck provides a very understated, realistic performance of someone dealing with this character’s set of circumstances. Lucas Hedges and Michelle Willams also bring some great performances.
