9 Awesome Trailers from Comic-Con 2016

Oh how I love it this time of year. San Diego Comic-Con is like Nerd-vana. But for those unfortunate ones – like myself – who cannot attend, at least we get an influx of awesome new trailers, teasers, images, and announcements from upcoming films and series. Here are a few of the trailers that premiered at Comic-Con 2016, including a crap load of Marvel. Check it out.

The Walking Dead – Season 7

I’ve been waiting for this trailer ever since The Walking Dead ended and left me severely underwhelmed. But of course there is still no word on whose head is on the other end of Negan’s brutal beatdown. I really liked the little montages of all the characters who are on the chopping block. But what was really great to see is what’s going on with the other members of the group; such as Morgan, Carol, Tara, Jesus, etc. We also get a glimpse of The Kingdom and their King Ezekiel. Season 7 looks promising!

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out where the next season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is going to take us. That’s right: all the way to damn HELL. Ghost Rider, bitches!

Marvel’s Daredevil – Season 3

Season 2 premiered on Netflix only a few months ago, but I’ve been looking forward to season 3 ever since I watched the season 2 finale. Mostly because I heard that Bullseye might be the main villain. In this comic-con 2016 teaser, once the lights go out you can hear something being thrown. What do we think? Bullseye? Or maybe I’m drawing too much into it. Needless to say, this is an awesome teaser and I can’t wait for season 3.

Marvel’s Luke Cage

I cannot explain to you how big my smile was when I heard Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” start playing. It fits this trailer beautifully. But also, how bad ass is Luke Cage?! Straight up destroying dudes in this comic-con 2016 trailer. Definitely looking forward to this new Netflix Marvel series. Speaking of which…

Marvel’s Iron Fist

Who is Danny Rand? In this very short comic-con 2016 trailer we get a glimpse at the origins of Danny Rand AKA Iron Fist who will be teaming up with Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Daredevil in…

Marvel’s The Defenders

Possibly one of my favourite teaser trailers of all time, let alone Comic-Con 2016. Here are three reasons why: 1) All the Marvel Netflix series has been building up to this point. 2) The familiar voice of Stick from the popular Marvel’s Daredevil provides the only two lines of dialogue in the whole teaser. 3) That score. Perfect. Nirvana? More like Nerd-vana? Am I right? Thank you Comic-Con 2016.

Suicide Squad – Deadshot

When I heard Will Smith was going to be Deadshot. I was like, “Hmm… Ok. That’s pretty random.” The character of Floyd Lawton isn’t exactly a massive part of the DC universe. You’d think Will Smith would want to be someone like Jon Stewart AKA Green Lantern. But anyway, he’s here and he looks like he is having fun with this role. In all the other trailers he had a couple of one-liners but nothing really stood out for me. This changed everything.

Suicide Squad – Harley Quinn

I did a post earlier this week about all the little TV spot trailers of all the characters ahead of Suicide Squad’s cinematic release on 5 August 2016. But this Harley Quinn trailer has a lot more footage and judging by what I see here, Harley is going to be a hard character to beat in terms of being the standout performer. A certain Clown Prince will give it a shot though…

Suicide Squad – Joker

Any movie with The Joker is certainly going to be entertaining. Batman’s nemesis looks entirely up to no good in this one. I can’t wait to see his toys… Ok, that sounded better in my head.

Also, that laugh at the end. Infectious.

Bring on the SKWAD!

Closing thoughts

All the Comic-Con 2016 trailers I’ve seen so far have been awesome and have gotten me so hyped for what’s to come. What was your favourite?
