After weeks of predictions and build up, the 89th annual Academy Awards took place a few hours ago and here are the big winners. We at BTG Lifestyle played a predictions game in our 2017 Oscars Round-Up as well. Let’s see who got the most correct!


The Big Winners:

Best Adapted Screenplay: Moonlight – Barry Jenkins and Tarell Alvin McCraney from In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue by Tarell Alvin McCraney Caryn, Tendai and Vernon’s pick.

Best Original Screenplay: Manchester by the Sea – Kenneth Lonergan – Caryn, Jeslyn and Vernon’s pick.

Best Sound Editing: Arrival – Sylvain Bellemare – Caryn and Vernon’s pick.

Best Original Score: La La Land – Justin Hurwitz Caryn, Jeslyn, Stephen and Tendai’s pick.

Best Original Song: “City of Stars” from La La Land – Music by Justin Hurwitz, Lyric by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul Dean and Stephen’s pick.

Best Visual Effects: The Jungle Book – Robert Legato, Adam Valdez, Andrew R. Jones, and Dan Lemmon Dean, Jeslyn and Stephen’s pick.

Best Film Editing: Hacksaw Ridge – John GilbertCaryn, Dean and Stephen’s pick.

Best Cinematography: La La Land – Linus Sandgren

Best Animated Feature: Zootopia – Byron Howard, Rich Moore, and Clark Spencer – Caryn, Dean and Tendai’s pick.

Best Supporting Actress: Viola Davis – Fences – Caryn, Dean, Stephen and Tendai’s pick.

Best Leading Actress: Emma Stone – La La Land – Tendai’s pick.

Best Supporting Actor: Mahershala Ali – Moonlight – Caryn, Dean, Stephen, Tendai and Vernon’s pick.

Best Leading Actor: Casey Affleck – Manchester by the SeaJeslyn and Tendai’s pick.

Best Director: Damien Chazelle – La La LandCaryn and Tendai’s pick.

Best Picture: La La Land Jeslyn and Tendai’s pick.  Moonlight – Caryn, Dean, Stephen and Vernon’s pick.
