Oscars Predictions 2019: Best Director
Penultimate award and it’s the biggest individual award of the night: Best Director. Let’s see who our panel of predictors picked.
Darren
Alfonso Cuarón, “Roma”
He is going to win, and looks like the clear favourite after Bradley Cooper missed out on a nomination.
Dean
Alfonso Cuarón, “Roma”
Handled with such care. So beautiful to watch. Alfonso knows exactly what he is doing and I am always going to be here for it. Give him the statue.
Garth
Alfonso Cuarón, “Roma”
Let’s cut the shit. If Alfonso doesn’t win then this Oscar’s clearly isn’t following any script.
Stephen
Alfonso Cuarón, “Roma”
Cuarón poured his heart and soul into Roma; he showed us his life and the lives of those close to him. The story is portrayed with such love and reverence, and that’s before we get to some of the impossibly shots that he pulls off in Roma, often directing large numbers of people in the foreground and background of a single shot. This is breathtaking cinema from the 2-time Oscar winner and Roma might just give him his third.
Tendai
Alfonso Cuarón, “Roma”
It will be criminal if Alfonso is denied. Absolutely criminal.
Vernon
Alfonso Cuarón, “Roma”
This is like duh. Alfonso Cuaron the GENIUS. All genuises deserve their praises. Last year was the tremendous Guillermo even though I wanted the Lady Bird mother to win. I’m content knowing that the Oscars at least with out a doubt gets this category right every year.
