Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer

We’ve been waiting for a while for a new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi; and many fans were starting to suspect that we may not even get one. Then came the announcement of the trailer on Sunday, and now it’s finally here. Enjoy!

When I saw articles talking about Rian Johnson telling everyone to not watch the trailer, I was worried. Did we have another new blockbuster director meltdown on our hands? Turns out the dude just loves going into movies clean (unsullied), and was advocating for that.

And much like us, he couldn’t resist the temptation to watch the new trailer. I gotta say I love what they’re doing here. I mean, they finally gave Luke some lines, and these pay off because of that delayed gratification.

We see the promise of a bunch of loose threads tied up in this new trailer, including a battle between Captain Phasma and Finn, and an intense and emotional look shared by Kylo and his mom, General Leia.

We also get our first look at Snoke in person, and a new little fluffy friend for Chewbaca (they have to hit their standard cuteness quota for each movie).

Poe Dameron is there in all his majesty saying some deep shit, while we see what appears to be Luke fearful of Rey’s power, as Kylo appears to embrace it. Are we going to see Rey’s temptation to go over to the Dark Side?

It was something that many fans and critics speculated on based on how the original trilogy panned out, as well as what Kylo Ren says during his monologue at the end of The Force Awakens.
