I’ve got something pretty cool for you today; something that may have slipped under most people’s radar over the last couple of days with all the news and publicity for Star Wars and Warcraft flooding the internet.
It’s a 2016 film called The Finest Hours, and it’s about a boat that’s in trouble. Check out the trailer below:
The most impressive thing about this trailer is the use of camera angles and movement. For this type of narrative, one would come to expect a lot of shaky came and seemingly disoriented visuals, but if you look closely the camera actually moves very purposefully in every shot.
The effects look fairly realistic, and the acting is solid. Although this film may only get more buzz closer to its January 2016 release date, it’s worth keeping an eye out for it.
“The Coast Guard makes a daring rescue attempt off the coast of Cape Cod after a pair of oil tankers are destroyed during a blizzard in 1952.”
The film stars Ben Foster, Chris Pine, Holliday Grainger, Kyle Gallner, Eric Bana, Rachel Brosnahan & Casey Affleck, among others.
