The True Cost Trailer

Brace yourselves, I know it’s early for something this deep, but this is probably the most devastating trailer you’ll watch for a long time. This is a documentary exploring the impact of fashion on people and the planet.

Damn. I feel like I need to take the responsibility to find out where my clothes are coming from. You don’t get a rude awakening like this until it’s literally thrown in your face.

The most heart-wrenching thing about this trailer is how is provides the juxtaposition between the developed and undeveloped world, casting into light the stark contrast between life on the runway, and life in the factories. It’s a tough watch.

I wasn’t planning on mentioning it, but I see an Oscar in the works, as this documentary tackles a fundamental element of human society: clothing, and more specifically, fashion. Something we all partake in in some way, shape or form.
