Will Smith, Jared Leto confirmed for Suicide Squad

After it was announced last month that Harley Quinn will be played by no other than the awesome Morgot Robbie, rumours erupted as to who would be cast next.

Jared Leto was at the time rumoured to be The Joker, and Jessie Eisenberg was also rumoured to potentially bring his Lex Luther character to Suicide Squad.

Here are the castings that Warner Brothers confirmed last night: 

Jared Leto will indeed be the Joker. Despite being in a completely different movie (franchise), playing the role of The Joker in the wake of Heath Ledger’s Dark Night Joker will not be easy.

However we all know Leto can act, especially after his role in Dallas Buyers Club, for which we nabbed the Oscar.

Warner Bros also announced that Will Smith will be playing Deadshot. Well we all know Smith can do action, and he can rock a suit too, even though After Earth was a really crap movie.

I think he’ll make a pretty good assassin.

Tom Hardy as Rick Flag. Flag has an interesting story that can not be discussed here, because spoilers! So this one I’m just going to wait out.

Right now, Eisenberg’s role in Suicide Squad as Lex Luther remains a rumour, however he is confirmed as Luther in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Update: Jai Courtney (who you may know from Divergent) has been cast as Boomerang; and Cara Delevingne (from the upcoming Pan) will be Enchantress.

Jai Courtney was actually rumoured to be Deadsot, but turns out he’ll be Boomerang instead.
