Flip a Coin Day
Today we celebrate indecisiveness… Or do we? See what I did there? June 1st is Flip a Coin Day and is the one day a year when decisions should be made by flipping a coin. Let’s all be Harvey Dent for a day and leave everything up to chance, shall we?
Flipping a coin dates back to the days of Julius Cesar who would use this method for much of his decision-making. He would flip a coin and if it landed on heads – which of course had his own head on it – then that would be the right answer. Don’t question the guy’s logic. Do you have a coin with your head on it? I didn’t think so.
Should you ride your bike to work? Flip a coin. Should you eat take out for lunch today? Flip a coin. Should you steal someone’s car? Flip a-… wait, let’s not go that far. After all, I doubt the police will flip a coin to see if they should arrest you.
This exercise can yield very positive results and you might just find yourself flipping a coin more often. If you’re contemplating whether you should go to the gym today and the coin flip reads heads, then well… The binding laws of coin-flipping state you must go! Don’t hesitate. Don’t put things off. Instead just flip a coin and let the universe take care of it.
